Hi everyone,
My husband send the application in Oct2018. Email received today saying application received on the 1st Nov and start processing on the 14th Feb.
My questions
Why does it take so long to process after receiving?
How long more to wait for the medical request?
I am in Malaysia.
Thanks

Nobody can answer that. Too many factors that will affect processing time.
Assume 12 months processing time and hope for good

It takes so long because yours is not the only application. There are thousands of others ahead of you in the queue.
Anywhere from 0 days to infinity. Nobody can answer that. I do know that we had to include the medical with our application (Australia)
You can expect a decision in about 12 months, although that's only an estimate. It could be sooner or it could be longer.

AOR means they just started processing your app so at this point you can create an online account, and just monitor it. They will let you know if they need anything.

Yeah I cant complain. Its going pretty fast. Part of it is up to you (make sure your app has everything needed with strong relationship proofs etc) and the other part is luck. Were having our app process at Singapore which if one of the fastest VOs.
Now im sponsoring my wife but when I was waiting for my PR it took 28 months instead of 17 months because of my military background.
As said there are so many factors that can make the processing longer and its impossible to know whats gonna happened. Best is to assume 12 months and try to reduce stress (hard, i know)

Hope youll get it sooner. Good luck
