They don't allow Canadians on certain social services (such as welfare payments) to sponsor their relatives. You being on Medicaid is irrelevant.

You means once they have been approved for PR and are in Canada? If so, no that's not ok.

Oh I’m sorry my English isn’t well, so me and my wife and 2 kids are in the USA, and my wife is Canadian citizen and me and the kids are USA citizen, so if I’m understand this right, my wife cannot be on social services or Medicaid but is it okay for me and the kids have social services or (Medicaid?) if me and the kids are on Medicaid will ircc reject the application? Because me and the kid s are on social services (Medicaid)

You being on Medicaid and social services in USA has no effect on a PR application. The sponsor in Canada can't be collecting social aid in Canada.

hello thank you very much for the reply, yes we are all in America my wife is Canadian citizen, I’m guessing she would be an sponsor, so she cannot be on social aid in America right? She also live with me and the kids in America

I didn't realize you wife is there. Your wife will have to show proof of how she will be able to support the family once the PR application is complete and you move to Canada. From a job, savings or real estate that you own etc.

I should add that when you get to Canada if you end up having to use social assistance, your wife being the sponsor would be responsible to repay the money to the government. Part of the undertaking she signs is that she will support you for 5 years.

Small correction to this. It's three years, not five.
