OP, I think you are making this more complicated than it should. I understand, the process can do that to your head, I’ve been there ;)

When we applied Outland for my husband, I wasn’t living in Canada, didn’t have a job and no real income for over a year. I showed my savings to prove that we could support ourselves once we get to Canada, we didn’t have any issues at all.
Are you saying that you have applied to sponsor from abroad? Are you a Canadian citizen then? I am a PR and as such need to live in Canada. But maybe I am missing something.

You must be living in Canada when you apply to sponsor her and must continue living in Canada while the application is processed. Living outside of Canada for sponsors is only possible for those with citizenship. Your understanding of the rules is correct.

Not applicable to the OP's situation. You sponsored your husband as a citizen - OP is a PR.

Honestly I think you're way overthinking this. Check the boxes off for supporting documents, evidence, and proof. I personally would not be so concerned with so much detail (Including flights etc for proofs of visit is great, we did that for trips taken together)...you don't need to provide more than they ask for in terms of write ups and explanations, it will only cause potential delays and confusion.

You need to provide a detailed explanation on the support piece. Just follow the checklist.
Thanks. I wanted to ask you about "proof of contact" section. I am providing email communications with my partner. I have gone a little bit overboard with the emails, having 10 only (covering ten years of our common-law relationship) but 60 pages along with the translations. Now, isn't it a little bit redundant considering that for the past 10 years we have been living together? Do they mean emails when the sponsor is in Canada and sponsored person abroad? I will be submitting my app the next day I return to Canada. No room or time for a chit-chat :)

Thanks. How do they check whether sponsor lives in Canada?

I have declared my partner on my express entry application for PR, and put her down as non-accompanying. Now, after spending two weeks only in Canada, doing my landing in August, I am returning to apply to sponsor her in January. The reason I have provided as to why she is not accompanying was because of her job situation at the time. Could our application be rejected on these grounds? Do I need to provide an explanation why I haven't applied with her in the first instance and wanting to sponsor her in such a short span of time?
