Hi everyone,

So this is my situation right now I am sponsoring my husband who is a Filipino citizen but then he is currently working in Thailand for two years now and we used the Thailand Checklist for filling up his application because we knew that it would be more faster if its outside the Philippines. Few weeks ago I got an email from CIC that I got approved as a sponsor and they sent his application to the visa office in Manila in which it should be sent in the visa office in Thailand because he is currently there and the address that we put in his application is his Thailand address and he`s been there for two years.

My question is why would they sent his application in Manila,Philippines while he is currently in Thailand? Does that mean he needs to go back to the Philippines?

Please help I`m really worried now that his application will take too long.

It's up to CIC to pick which VO to process the application. So you don't really have a choice. They sometimes pick where the applicant is residing but they can also pick where the applicant is originally from (citizenship).

I know this is a dumb question but does he need to go back to the Philippines? or is it okay if he still work in Thailand and wait for approval of his application?

Thank you in advance i really appreciate it

He can remain in Thailand. If he's called for an interview, he will have to go to Manila for it.
