According to the guidelines I need to have a or some job offers in Canada if I want to do an Outland sponsorship of my husband while I am living and working overseas. Questions: Could this job offer be a nanny position looking after 3+ children? If I have a job offer or job offers will CIC actually call and verify them??
thanks

I have asked this before but i want more clarification from those out there with experience. When giving CIC 'job offers' to show re-establishment in Canada. It has been stated that they will call and verify them by members of this forum and that I don't actually have to accept the 'offer'. So I have an offer from a family friend to be a nanny for her 4 children but I will not go through with the offer. What kind of questions will CIC ask her if they call? Alternatively, can my mother state she is going to 'offer' me a job as a caregiver for my ailing father while my husband, daughter and I live in the basement apartment of our house?
Please advise Forum.
thanks

That should be okay, and don't worry - they won't call. Again, my sponsor got a job offer which she never accepted once she moved to Canada. It was obvious that the annual salary could not support the entire family.

When I posted this on another thread someone replied that CIC DOES call. Are you sure? Also, if your sponsor's 'job offer' was obviously not enough to support the entire family, why did CIC believe that she would be able to re-establish herself with the family in Canada? Were you living with her family?
thanks

Well, it's not really a matter of being able to re-establich rather your intention to re-establish. In addition to the job offer we also provided financial information showing CIC that we could support ourselves before I got a job. We also send CIC a detailed plan of what I had been doing and actions to secure a job within 90 days of landing. My wife wrote a letter to CIC explaining her personal reasons why she wanted to move back to Canada with her non-Canadian family.

I got a job offer before my PR but I never forwarded CIC a copy as the sponsorship application had already been approved.

Could I get my old supervisor from when I used to work in Canada 5 years ago in a social services position write me a letter stating that she feels confident that I would be able to find a job within 90 days of arriving back in Canada and that she would be happy to be a reference? This is not a job offer rather some evidence that I am employable

That, in combination, with other letters could work. Include a copy of your resume, and a letter specifying what you have done to land a job (contacted recruiters, phone interviews etc). Most important, were will you live for the first 1-2 months? Can you get a letter from a friend or family member confirming they will offer you housing.

I have been told as it is very difficult for CIC to verify documents that support once intention to return they spend very little time on this. It is very easy to get a fake "job-offer" or a "lease" as these are just pieces of paper. I know I'm simplifying, but in the end, as a Canadian citizen you have every right to return to your home country regardless.

Interview Until Approval/Visa Issuance Wait Times

Hi there!

My husband Youness finally had his interview for immigration yesterday in Rabat. He said he thinks it went really well - soooooooo happy to hear that! We have not seen each other in person since February and obviously miss each other very much and want to be together ASAP.

Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes to hear back after the interview has been completed?

Yvonne - I'm glad to hear. As our interview was waived I'm not sure about the processing time once the interview is completed, but I would think it's getting very close. Good luck!

Thanks for such positive and smart commentary on re-establishing in Canada. It just took away all my stress about proofs. I want to go ASAP and I guess just sharing with CIC what I am actually doing (really looking for job online, posting resumes, looking for place to live, trying to get some rent arrangements) should be fine :( We are still gathering documents abroad but by the time we are ready I hope to have some results too.
