hi there,

I'm sponsoring my husband with the Outland application. He is currently visiting. Would I be able to put his mailing address as my own. Or should it be one from his home country.

Also if I want to be able to call for updates since I'm the sponsor and in Canada. Which form do we fill out.

Thanks so much

Hi

Use the Canadian address for both mailing and residential.

IMM5476 - Use of a Representative.

Would it raise red flags if my husbands mailing and residential address are my Canadian one. When we are applying "Outland" while he is hete visiting?

No, it is not a red flag. It is perfectly fine to apply outland while in Canada.

I am not sure about red flags, but does it make sense to use a residential address where the person does not live in while the application is outland? Plus, since the address on record would be in Canada for the applicant, all maligns will go there, including the COPR, which is not practical. I do not see any advantage to put the residential address in Canada if the applicant is not living in Canada. If things change, you can always ask them to update the residential address.

So to clarify if he's here visiting while we send the application on question 10 "current country of residence" would we put home address or mine the sponsors in Canada.

And also for mailing and residents also my Canadian address. Even though we are applying "Outland" in hopes it processes quicker than the inland option.

Yes I'm confused on that as well. But he may jut try to extend his visitor status here while he waits for the application to process Outland.

OP's spouse is IN CANADA. The assumption is that they wish to stay together in Canada while the app is processing, in which case it makes perfect sense to use only a Canadian address.

If OP's spouse leaves Canada, then they can simply update the address.

Outland doesn't mean that the applicant must be outside Canada. It means that the app is processed outside of Canada. The applicant can be anywhere in the world, including in Canada.

I guess the keyword was "visiting", from the first post, which is what I responded assuming the spouse was to return to country of origin before processing is complete, hence my thoughts on not being practical. Only after my response, an extension was indicated.
