Do we have to translate all docs into english we are here in italy and i think will all be sent to rome anyway after missisaga so just wondering any help with this one

Even though it's being processed in Rome, the documents still have to be in either english or french. So yes, you should have them translated.

You don't have to bother with absolutely everything (for example the phone bills, if you have them for proof of relationship), but certainly anything like a marriage certificate, police certificate, any affidavits and the like should be translated.

Hi I have exactly the same doubts: why do I need to translate documents into English if they are in Italian and they will be processed in Rome anyways? My doubt is specific to police certificates (that shouldn't be needed in Mississauga...)

Anyone has past experience about it?

ALL documents submitted to CIC need to be in English or French, no matter what country the embassy is in. Since the VO assessing your file is a Canadian, they may not speak, read or write Italian. Police certificates ARE needed when you send your application to Mississauga as the file must be complete and include all documents on the Sponsor's and Applicant's checklist or it will be sent back to you as incomplete.

we translated everything including police records. marriage birth certificate was to be translated also anything in italian even identy card and passport so hope this helps
