Okay, that makes more sense. Your visa office is Ottawa, not Sao Paulo. I wanted to clarify because I didn't want people those visa office is Sao Paulo to wonder why some people's visas are being processed in weeks, not months. In fact, Ottawa is draining off applications from all over the world, and those lucky enough to get Ottawa are getting very fast approvals.

Hi, Process was super fast(only 4 month), and now im waiting for my passport. The lady(from the immigration) was taking care of my case in Canada, called me and asked me why i want send my documents to Sao Paulo, and i gave my reasons.

Hello Everyone,

I am also applying Outland/SP.

Anyone with time line updates? I would think our applications would be faster as I don't see many Canadian's sponsoring Brazilian's. Well, at least in this forum.

I am a Canadian Citizen, applying for my Husband, currently living in Brazil.

Any update would be helpful :)

Unfortunately, the durations aren't very consistent. CIC is reporting a 9-month turnaround time, including sponsorship evaluation. I don't know anyone that's gone much past this. For our, the entire duration of our application, from receipt of the application through to landing, was 6 months and 22 days. That was faster than I expected.

If you don't hear any news, that's a good thing. You won't hear anything unless something's gone wrong, or you get DM.

Hello!!!

February applicant here!!!
SA april 6th
and...waiting
it has now been 5 months for me...
anxiously waiting for some good news...
like they say...no news is good news!!

I'm also a Canadian sponsoring my Brazillian wife to Canada. We applied outland Feb 9 2015 received SA around mid march and file sent to sao Paulo VO March 30 2015. To date we have had no communication from the VO - we will be applying for GMCS notes this week to get some clarity on our application.

All the best to those waiting patiently - I'll post again should I have more relevant news for us all.

expected wait time from application received to DM approval is currently 9 months and they seem to be getting files done at least within that timeline or faster.

cheers,
John (Toronto)

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to know if there is anyone else here processing through the Sao Paulo Visa office so we can share our progress.

If you are one of us, please let's share our timelines, triumphs, hopefully no issues or just small issues, anything and everything about this stage of our applications!

My husband and I are on the same boat, we just started our process this week so keep us posted of your progress!

I have to say Im a bit concerned because processing time via SAO PAULO used to be 5 months only and now it states 17 months. So it would be very helpful also to share our processing time so we can have a better estimation.

Good luck and GOD bless us all!

Hi there - my timeline seems to be just 2 months ahead of yours. I posted below - should there be any relevant news I'll be sure to post again. Should you have any questions we have a great forum that is supportive - all the best

Nothing.....I am still waiting for the SA, from the June thread that I am following, looks like I should be getting within this week, or early next week :) the SA processing times was reduced by one day too lol, I know it is only one day, but when that is what I am waiting for, the 1 less day to wait is GOLD :)

Yes we sent them a scan of the document by email. They sent us an email back confirming receipt and confirming they didnt need a hard-copy :)

Since then we haven't heard anything, which I think is good news?

Good luck to you too! And keep us posted ;)

Hello everyone, good morning.

We sent my husband's passport to the SP visa office where it was received last week by Sedex. We understand that they'll return it by registered mail (Carta Registrada, right?). Has anyone else received their passport back from the SP visa office this way? If so, did the visa office email you a tracking number? How long did it take?

Our main concern is that the passport will arrive during the day, but no one is home from 7:30am-7:30pm. As no one will be home when it arrives, will the passport be left at the nearest Correios for us to pick up, then? Is that what happened for anyone else?

Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

(Happy Halloween for those already in Canada!)
