Outland - Sao Paulo Applications 2015/2016

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to know if there is anyone else here processing through the Sao Paulo Visa office so we can share our progress.


If you are one of us, please let's share our timelines, triumphs, hopefully no issues or just small issues, anything and everything about this stage of our applications!

My husband and I are on the same boat, we just started our process this week so keep us posted of your progress!

I have to say Im a bit concerned because processing time via SAO PAULO used to be 5 months only and now it states 17 months. So it would be very helpful also to share our processing time so we can have a better estimation.

Hello!

I am also applying through Sao Paulo office. My wife is Canadian and she is sponsoring me. We sent the papers on December 9th and they received it on the next day. On February 5th we got an email that she was approved to be my sponsor and the papers were sent to Sao Paulo. So far on eCAS I have all the three line (received, in process and medical) and just waiting for something to happen

About the 17 months, I don't think that that applies for all the offices. Most people are getting their CoPR in less than that. So I hope that Sao Paulo still holds its 5 month period process. It is hard to tell when there is not a lot of people to compare to.

I am also applying through Sao Paulo. I am a Canadian sponsoring my Brazilian husband, and we are living in Brazil until the process is over.

My timeline: Application Received March 4th, 2016
AOR1 Received March 30th, 2016

Now awaiting my SA.

In the February outland applicants group there is another Canadian sponsoring a spouse in Sao Paulo, I suggest going to the group to check out his timeline as he is only a little ahead of me (app received in February) and has already received AOR2.

Hope we all get very fast news and the processing times are quick! I wanna go back to Canada

Hopefully Sao Paulo continues to be one of the fastest VOs around. I think that soon you will get your SA. The approval time went down to around 32 days, my SA took 57 days.
They already started processing my app but I didn't hear anything so far. I will take that as good news!

I submitted the application to sponsor my common-law partner from Sao Paulo on March 18th.

Just received my SA today along with the information that my application is being forwarded to CPC-Ottawa for further processing.

This is a big upset. Was really counting on the visa being processed in Sao Paulo for the fast turnaround time. Don't know what to expect in terms of processing anymore...

Really? I've been reading a lot on here and other places, and I've seen posts saying this and the opposite.

Do you mind posting a link to somewhere suggesting Ottawa is processing faster? Thanks so much.

I think we are in the same situation.
We applied on OCtober 2015, and he has approved on January 2016. And all the documents are in Sao Paulo.
Hope to receive something soon.

Someone from the immigration called me asking many questions and want to know why i wanted my papers to be sent to Brasil.
That was in January. I hope to be done soon. Almost 5 months. And in August my husband and I are going to Brazil for our bigger wedding.

Anyone have any experience with Sao Paulo to know how long it should take to get the Visa stamped and the passport back? Their correspondence said 10 days. Counting the days...

Hmmm....are you sure your visa office was Sao Paulo and not Ottawa? The estimated wait time for Sao Paulo is 8 months. Many people I know that applied in September and October 2015 have not received DM. So Two months for DM in your case seems a little odd.

Yes, to clarify, we applied outland, believing the whole application would be processed in Sao Paulo, but it was actually sent to Ottawa for processing which made the whole process super fast to our surprise.

Then my partner got email requesting that she send the passport to Sao Paulo for the visa.

Okay, that makes more sense. Your visa office is Ottawa, not Sao Paulo. I wanted to clarify because I didn't want people those visa office is Sao Paulo to wonder why some people's visas are being processed in weeks, not months. In fact, Ottawa is draining off applications from all over the world, and those lucky enough to get Ottawa are getting very fast approvals.
