Hi there,

I am in desperate need of help regarding whether to apply outland (via Sydney, Australia) or Inland.
I am currently in Canada on a 6 month visitor visa and will be applying for PR through my boyfriend via the Common Law category.
From what I have read it is a much faster process doing this 'outland' via Australia. Is it ok to write on the forms that my current address is in Canada even though I am applying to the Oz office?

Also, can I get my medical done in Canada or do I have to wait for the Sydney office to advise?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

As Swede said, yes you can definitely apply outland although you are living in Canada. Put your "residential address" as your address in Australia, and use your "mailing address" for your Canadian address. The ouland process is generally much faster, so it's wise of you to go that route.

And Yes, you are able to get your medical done in Canada- you just need to find a DMP in your city that can do the medical. Do the medical and all police background checks in advance so that you can send them in with your application. Good luck :)

Hello,
Same situation as Raucy and Chandu. I will be applying for a PR under family class for my fiance (soon to be married in Canada). My fiance will be visiting me in Canada where our marriage will take place and I intend to apply to send her PR application soon after we're married. I had a question on whether inland is faster or outland is and it looks like Outland is the fastest way to go. In the meantime, can she stay with me in Canada under TRV and can I get the TRV extended after the 6 month period for a year quoting that the PR application is process? Also, she's working in the US currently, so I'm thinking she can go ahead and get the FBI certificate and medicals done in the US which I can then enclose with the application - is that correct?

Thanks for your help.
