I am currently sponsoring my husband immigrant to Canada.

We submitted our application on September 1. According to CIC timeline, the first stage should be done by now. But it still show in process since October 16.

My situation: immigrate as a skill worker in 2008 with my ex. However, things didn't work well, so we divorce in 2009. I start my current relationship in October 2011 and got married in August 2013. I got my second degree in Canada in 2014 and working as a full time management role in a company. I am currently pregnant , due next early spring and submit my sponsorship on September 1. I also got my Canadian citizenship this year.

My husband situation: he got his Phd last year in Canada. Working as a full time engineer at a hospital. He actually can use other methods like pnp, express entry to immigrant to Canada. But we though that family class seems faster.

I don't know why our case still in process. Is there any red flags regarding to my situation?
I tried to call the cic, the agent ask me to wait 1-2 weeks to get the result.
I don't know how long we will get the result back. Anyone has similar experience?

I would tend to agree with the agent. You just need to be more patient. On the surface you are likely OK it is maybe just taking longer to review. I doubt 2nd marriage will affect the outcome though perhaps implies a little more scrutiny than usual.

Speedy processing!

Thank you for your reply. I will be more patient until I get the result. Me and my husband got married more than two years and I also pregnant. He has a stronger background than me. I don't think there is any concern on my case.

The fact is that the second marriage will not affect your application outcome or speed.
Since you applied Sep,1 and CIC website says it is processing applications received on Sep,2 you could call now and inquire again. Given that you satisfy all sponsorship eligibility conditions you should receive your approval any day now.

I will try to call again. I know there are many agent don't helpful at all. In my case, I think they should write a note to the vo to remind he or she. So far I didn't get any AOR yet. But I can use my uci number to check my status.

I really hope that I can get the result back asap. If my first stage doesn't get approval, we will use another method.

I called the agent again, he told me that the VO need a bit longer time to verify my documents.

Dont know how long it will takes.

Anyone know how to order special case status to check more information?
