Hi guys, what do you think is the chance that outland COPRs can be granted PR status without having to do landing (maybe getting an email or phone interviews?). I know that inland COPRs are now getting emails or phone interviews confirming their PR status.

No chance. Landing via email / phone will only be allowed for those already in Canada.

For those outside of Canada who cannot come to Canada and land in time due to COVID-19, IRCC will extend the date on your COPR so that you have additional time to travel to Canada to complete landing activities.

Has anyone heard about when IRCC will be resuming interviews for spousal applications that are overseas. My lawyer told me it will probably won’t be doing interviews until 2021 and that they do not want to do interviews via Skype or video. When she calls IRCC their response is they do not know when interviews will resume. We were offers an early interview in the UK but my husbands visa application was denied. So now our options are Abu Dhabi and Islamabad. But we have no clue when the interview will take place. Anyone have any info?

I have to say the chance is close to 0%. A document issued by IRCC after the outbreak of COVID-19 says CoPR holders outside of Canada *should not* automatically become PR. You can search IRCC website that document.

Offices in the Centralized and Domestic Networks will continue to process permanent residence applications where the principal applicant is in Canada and has overseas dependants, taking into account the delays that may occur. The principal applicant should not be granted permanent residence if their overseas dependants cannot travel, with the sole exception of protected persons, for whom there is a legislative exemption from this requirement. Clients will be contacted to ascertain next steps once travel is possible again.

Ok I misremembered it. The guidance applies to inland CoPR holders whose dependents can't travel. It does not mention process guidance for outland CoPR holders, but I guess the chance of getting PR without landing is still slim.
