Hi All,

Just received the FBI fingerprints today... finally!! From reading this forum, it was recommended that we gather the FBI fingerprints and medical immediately and send everything in as one full package. It will be such a relief to at least get it out the door!!

I know that there have been tips scattered throughout the forum, but I thought that one place to have them all would be great and so helpful!

Can you please provide tips from personal experience which have sped up the application, submission, and PR process for outbound.

Thanks! Happy New Year

Hi Krissy...if you don't mind me asking when did you submit your prints? I submitted mine first week of December.

I am doing outbound like you. From what I read just make sure you include a lot of evidence that your marriage is of good faith. Last thing you would want is them to doubt the sincerity of it.

Also I applied for the state police certificate and got that within 2 weeks. Now i'm afraid that will expire (3 months) by the time I get the fbi one done and application submitted. Are you doing the state check too? I think it is a good idea so they don't request it later on. Also make sure everything is signed and your photos are within the specifications (remember they are not regular passport photos).

Good luck! and congrats on getting what most say is the hardest part done!

Hi there,

It took us 3 months for FBI fingerprints. Unfortunately we got a letter about 2.5 months in saying that the credit card number was expired, so it took an additional 2 weeks. what a pain!

Question for you about the photos... the ones provided for the medical, did you provide the PR photos or the passport photos? We were told by the doctor passport photos and then to submit 4 additional PR photos in the application. can this all get a little more confusing!!

Thanks

That is a very good question as I wondered the same. When I was booking an appointment for my medical they told me passport photos but I thought they just didn't know what they were talking about at the counter so I got the "immigration" ones with the specs listed in the appendix. They asked me for 4 photos for the Medical appointment so I got 8 total Immigration sized photos.

Can anyone answer for sure? No where in the application did it mention passport sized photos so I figured they were all the other ones...

Passport and immigration photos are often used interchangeably (usually to distinguish between that type of head shot and, say, your vacation photos, lol) by people not deep into the details of the process and requirements. You are correct to use the Appendix for the requirements for the photo specifications.

Thanks for the input!
