My spouse had an interview last month in her home country.

We would like to understand what generally happens after an interview? I imagine the interview was to demonstrate proof of relationship.

What could happen at this point assuming the application and interview is fine? Any chance of another interview? Can I safely bring her back to Canada as a visitor status without worrying that they might request something from her in her home country to be present there.

You should check online on MyCIC on the status of the application. Have you linked your account online so you can check for updates?
You should also order GCMS notes to get an update on the file. It takes 30 days or more to receive the notes.

Several points:
1. Yes, they can call her for a second interview. My perception is if they were going to do so they would have informed her in an email or letter by now. Depending on her VisaOffice there might be a longer delay in processing a requirement for the re-interview.
So, it's still possible, but keep your fingers crossed, it may not be required.

Ordering GCMS notes should give you more clarity on that point.

2. I would have expected if they had decided to reject the relationship, they would have informed her by now, not long after the interview. Again, my expectation may be mistaken because some VO's have very long wait times to get files from ready for decision to Decision Made.
You need GCMS to get a picture on what is happening.

3. It's my own personal feeling that I wouldn't want to travel if my application is at this stage, as it's possible they might send an email at any time requesting the passport.
It's also my opinion that Immigration will be very reluctant to issue a Visitor Visa while the PR application is being processed - though I've heard in some cases it's happened, but many requests for Visit Visa have been refused when there's an open PR app.

GCMS notes is what you need. You can apply for them easily at this link. Expect to wait 30 days or more to receive them, and then you can ask this forum for help in understanding what's on the report.

Request the notes here: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do

Thank you for this information, its very helpful.

Her office is the Singapore commission. It has been awhile and have not heard back yet.

I will order GCMS notes but it states that only those who have right of access (canadian citizen, permanent residence, or individual present in Canada) can request the notes.

Can I request these notes on her behalf even if I am not her "representative" but I am the sponsor. She is not in Canada now

assuming we dont need a second interview and the first interview went well, how long generally are we away from the final decision? Are we close to and end? :D
