Hi Everyone,

I am applying outland while living in Canada.
My application of PR is processing in Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong, and I received the following email:

If not yet submitted: Original police certificates from each country in which you have spent 6 consecutive months or more since the age of 18. For instructions on how to obtain police certificates for specific countries, click here: cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index. If you are unable to submit police certificate(s) within the 30 day deadline, submit proof of having applied for the certificate with your package.

I have already requested Hong Kong Police Certificate to be sent to the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong.
However, I am not sure if I need to get Canadian Police Certificate. According to CIC's website, Canadian Police Certificate is not required for PR application but I has been in Canada for almost 5 years.

Any suggestions :'(

No - not needed (unless you are specifically asked to provide one by CIC once they have started processing your application).

I applied as OUTLAND too, and I submitted both police check in Canada and China, just in case.
