Good Evening
I'm a bit flustered. I landed in June 2017 and stayed in the country for a week and then went back to my home country for work. When I landed, the immigration officer said in order to renewin my PR card or apply for citizenship I would need to be in the country for some 700+ days in a 5 year period. I am now hearing from persons that because I have not visited in more than 6 months I have not honoured one of the requirements. Is this true? What are the repercussions.

You are still safe. Nothing to worry
You need to live in Canada for at least two years in any given five year period. You landed in June 2017, so you can live in your own country until June 2020, by which time you have to return to Canada if you want to keep your PR status
