Out of Status in US

Hello guys, please I am here in the US with expired B1/B2 visa but I and my wife was able to get work permit and social security. Unfortunately my wife's permit renewal was denied but mine renewed. She is currently out of status and we are applying for Express Entry in Canada. Has anyone ever had this type of situation? We want to know if her status could affect our application or not.

Canada doesn't necessarily care about your status in the US, especially for Express Entry, but it doesn't help you either. If you end up getting PR, your wife would be banned from returning to the US for 10 years.

How can ANYONE in the US on B1/B2 visa/status get a work permit and social security? It is impossible by the very definition of the visa status. Since you're not sharing the whole story and intentionally keeping the part of your biography where you bypassed the US immigration law in the shade, no one on this forum can actually help you.
Canada has full information exchange with the US, and depending on the severity of your violation, it can easily affect your application. Also, you need to be lawfully present in the US if you're applying for EE from there.
