Just wondering where people are at with the Sponsorship Process.. ie.

How many denials? If denied, what reasons were given? At what stage were you denied? 1st stage sponsorship eligiblity or PR application?

How many success stories? What was the timeline from start to finish? Was the applicant interviewed before being approved for PR?

Also mention if your application was Inland or Outland. If you were married, common-law or conjugal. Or if children came into play at all. Nationality and visa office for applicant.

Hopefully this catches on, it would be interesting to actually see everything behind the process, successes, denials, reasons, locations.

Good thread Wilder... Also... if anyone has ever been denied entry Back into the country after briefly leaving. maybe you can state how it went.. what reasons were given etc.. Esp inlanders... Outlanders too i suppose..

Hi there,

Our Application is in the Sponsorship Approval stage.

We are a Common-Law couple, together for just over two years but lived together 'consecutively' for just over one year (there was a 4-month break when we had to be apart during the first year, when his Visa for Canada expired and I was gathering the documents to get a Visa for the UK).

I am Canadian and he is British. Ours is an Outland application as we live together in England. Our Visa Office in Mississauga, followed by London for the approval of the Principle Applicant.

We started working on our Application in April 2010 and sent it on 10 August 2010. It was signed for at Mississauga on 12 August 2010. At this point we're just waiting.

Ours is family sponsorship Jan 2009. My husband was called for an interview and got a nasty chick for a VO, (long story) We were rejected April 2009, as they felt our marriage was not genuine (8 year relationship with proof) We filed an appeal and we won the appeal in March 2010. They started reprocessing us in June 2010, they requested new PCC and application forms for updating our file. We sent them in on Aug 7 and are now waiting to see if they will request new medical, which we think they will, I think they will be starting security checks this week coming. We are right now waiting for medicial request and passport request. Then we are finally done. God please let that day come soon for all of us.

I applied Inland September 2009 under the common law sponsorship. I am from the UK, came over to Canada with my 17 year old son on a work visa in 2007 to live with my Canadian partner.

After living together for 2 years, we applied Inland and I was approved and got my PR on 20th May 2010. PR cards arrived for both myself and son on 7th July 2010.

I'm not too far in the process:

-US citizen (me) married Canadian citizen, April 2010 after 7 year long distance relationship
-Submitted outland PR application (just me, no children) May 17, 2010
-In Canada as a visitor to wait out process as of mid June
-Sponsorship approved and transferred to Buffalo June 22, 2010

And that's where I am.. Almost 2 months and no AOR yet.. but hopefully soon
