Out of Country Spouse Sponsorship

Hi

My spouse is a dual Canadian/Australian citizen and we both live in Australia with our two young children (both have dual Australian and Canadian citizenship). We are looking to apply under the spouse sponsorship however I'm not sure what evidence we need to provide to prove she intends to move back to Canada when my PR is approved.

For out of country applications what evidence is needed? Would a trip to Canada to gather evidence be necessary (such as talking to recruitment agents for jobs, inspecting rental properties and visiting local schools)?

We could possibly gather some of this evidence from Australia by contacting recruiters, real estate agents and schools via email but I am concerned this may not be convincing enough. However if possible I would prefer to save our money for the relocation rather than make another trip to Canada for the purpose of gathering evidence.

We have no family in Canada or job offers at present.

Thanks

Your question is exactly the problem we are having right now with the ottawa office. CIC want to know that the sponsor will be relocating to Canada when you get your PR. You don't really need to go to Canada email contact with recruiters, real estate agents schools is generally good enough, a job offer is an added bonus. My best advice would be write a letter outlining a specific plan of what your intentions are. We also got a letter from my wife's parents saying we would be living with them when we arrive. If your wife still has bank accounts or other things showing ties to Canada these help. We didn't put enough emphasis into this and we are paying the price now in delays as we had to submit extra evidence.

Thanks for the info, hope your application gets approved!

Anyone have success sponsoring from out of country and what proof of intent to relocate did you supply?

This link is primarily for British applicants, but the answer is basically the same for you in your situation! http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spousal_Sponsorship-Canada/FAQ#Item_20:_Proof_of_intent_to_return_-_how_do_I_prove_I_want_to_move_back_to_Canada.3F

Hope that helps!
