Hi, I wish you fast process, but you must be prepared for a long waiting.

There is a Vienna thread-read it

It`s the most slowest VO at this moment. Wish you luck.

I know I read it already, checking every single post here and CIC web site every day.But I just said there was people who were in the same process and situation . My husbands friend got an answers after only 3 weeks, so I know there can and it is a long waiting list, but just wanna stay positive :) And thanks I wish a good luck to you and every app who is waiting to be with their loved ones

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for your input! Looks like stage 1 takes 45 days really but... Has anyone noticed what happened?? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Yesterday, the update said Nov 12, last working date was Sep 25 and processing was 48 days.
Today, update is Nov 19, working date BACKTRACKED to applications sent in Sep 9, yet processing is down to 44 days. WHAT IS GOING ON?

I submitted our application on Oct 22 so I had added 45 days at the time and it should be December 3. Well, at this pace, I am looking at January-February and definitely nowhere in the 40s but rather like 90 days for stage 1. I am a bit annoyed. Maybe they meant working on apps submitted Oct 9 and made a typo? Yah, I'm more than a little upset.

Thats probably some mistake, maybe they are working on apps received in Oct .But the good thing is if they have in plan to do updates weeklyfor both steps . Should wait the next update so they will probably correct a date

Hi,

You know what... It would be logical they meant Oct 9... It was Sep 25 at last update + about 2 weeks = Oct 9. I hope we are right. I noticed the "weekly update" subtitle in blue, it's new, I also hope it will be more regulated now :)

Thnx and let's see....

I know you are impatient but SA will come at the end. We waited 86 day in total, since the day we sent application till the day we got our SA. And the hardest thing is waiting and we cant do anything else to speed up our reunion with our spouses. I have been reading so many postes from others from Vienna office topic, I am aware that we could wait for a couple months, but just hoping it is gonna be quicker then we think . So really wish you a good luck first with getting your SA as soon as possible, and then with the next stage . :D

Sorry for my delay in responding... You were right about the date being a typo.
I called today and they advised it could take another 3 weeks... Meaning 60 days give or take. I can deal with that :
:)

Hi guys

We already got SA on Nov 12th,and it was transfered the same day to Vienna, they said in the letter. So now waiting a response from Vienna office, hope it would be over soon . I heard from couples who already went thru this process, that when it comes to Vienna everything going really fast :)
Most of the people I know who went through Vienna waited at least 12 months for their visa. There are now some cases which only took 9-10 months but Vienna is the slowest VO in Europe. I hope it'll be faster in the future but from 2012-2014 Vienna was a nightmare

My app is outland. I'm in Bosnia right now and he is in Canada, separated almost 6 months and it is really hard . If you apply inland and if they reject your app ( it could happen sometimes ) the you dont have right to appeal . But if you go outland the process is faster, you have right of appeal ( if you have reason, hope there wouldn't be ) and your husband can stay with you on his extended visa . But it is the best way to schedule an appointment in the immigration office and they will explain you everything you wanna know about whole process and gathering documents . I really wish you a good luck with everything :) If you have more questions feel free to ask :)

SA is sponsorhip approval
AOR - if they contact you before or between sponsorship approval and getting permanent residence ( PR )
AOR means acknowledgment of receipt - a confirmation that they received your application. Vienna usually doesn't send AOR

Many couples applied outland bcz it is faster even if they are living together in Canada. My husband is in Winnipeg, and the officer who spoke with him was really nice, explained to him everything, which forms we have to download and fill out,on 2nd appointment they checked togehter every form and the documents we gathered.

Now we are waiting for 3 months and we spoke to so many people who were sponsored and the sponsor, and they said that when comes to Vienna everything going quickly, maybe 30 days for whole 2nd stage and getting stamped passport . It is a comfort when you heard something like that but deep in yourself just praying to God please give me to be one of the lucky ones :)
30 days for PR through Vienna??? Who told you this? Most people in the last 3 years waited 12-18 months!!!

I assume they got it confused with CoPR. It does take 20-30 days from passport request to receiving COPR in mail. People do confuse PR and CoPR sometimes ::)

There might be the additional fast case but really: most of us wait around a year.

I hope he/she just meant COPR not PR

30 days sounds more like the first stage (Sponsor approval) of the application. Although I have to admin that recently Vienna really picked up in speed. Just recently a couple from Germany got their 'Decision Made' and they sent out their initial application in June 2014.

I'm still waiting at stage 1... Going to be 60 days... Was I supposed to receive some sort of confirmation? I paid Canada Post tracking as the Case Centre is in my town... But CIC PO box is high volume so it was only assumed that it arrived...

& to chime in... I'd be happy to hear from Vienna in 9 months let alone 30 days... Definitely too hopeful but nothing wrong with positive thinking lol...
