Hi my wife just got an email February 3 2014 from Visa office saying she had and interview on March 3. 2014
my question is that her meds expired and her criminal record, should she redo her medical and her criminal now to save time? Or should she wait for the visa office to ask her to redo it? Also I was wondering after interview do they tell you on the spot that you are approved or do they sometimes? Any tips ? For prep ext..my dad's in Vietnam right now waiting for my wife's interview to finish ext. how long do you think my wife's process time after interview will be until she can come to canada?

Here's a look at my timeline if anyone's is similar ....

Dec 24 2011 Sponsor Approved Missasuaga
Nov 16 2012 First interview letter they mailed it to my wife's house in Vinh Long.
Feb 3 2014 Second interview letter they did no mail it, they emailed it.
Mar 3 2014 Interview Date "Dong Khoi 9th floor HCM

"Just to let you no that my ecas was only changed from......... "Approved" to "Medical Received" and also has still not changed from 2011 until 2014 so it's the waiting game for about a year until you get for first interview letter then the pace will start picking up, so do be discouraged I been there do that so I feel ya

Thanks in advance From Victoria Bc.......
From my own experience:

-Wait until they ask for any documents (In my second interview letter they did ask to check the following documents: Police version 2) Medical will only be asked if you pass the interview

- In my case, they did tell that interview "is passed" on the spot and that next step is re-medical

- In my case, Once interview done, be prepared to wait 8 weeks (2 months including re-medical + passport request ) before she gets the VISA in her passport

Hope this info will help you prepare mentally

I have a question about the interview, do you have to let them know that the sponsor will be attend the interview, if yes, how?

Also they ask for Police check, but i think it will take a month to get them and it's still New year now overthere and they might not ready to work yet, what to do?

If you have any connections in So Tu Phap you can try asking for help with Red Envelope lol

My wife just got her re-medicals yesterday. They requested updated forms of IMM008, IMM5669E, and IMM5406E. They did not say to send passport after 6 weeks, so it looks like we have to wait for further instructions once the medical results are received

The letter date says January 17, 2014, but we did not receive the letter until February 6, 2014. I wonder when they actually shipped the letter.

QPH, you do not have to tell them anything. Just show up with your wife and they will ask who you are.

Interview letter was all translated to Vietnamese. They only asked for Police Cert 2, so we couldn't have missed request for updated documents.

QPH why is your case taking so long? What red flags do you have? I'm planning on sponsoring my wife in March, and she is from Saigon.

My wife only received documents in Vietnamese. If there was additional documents in English they would know since they cannot read it. So, looks like my case is different. They are just trying to make everything longer :(

I think it's standard, some people is even longer....

I dont think its standard to wait almost 3 years. I've seen a few Vietnamese sponsorships finish in 7 months becuase the couple has a strong relationship background with no red flags, married for 5+ years, travelled across the world, etc.

Hi All,

Last friday, my wife's ECAS changed to "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

She submitted her passport about 3 1/2 weeks ago. What does this decision mean? Is she approved or denied?

Please help shed some lights here. I've read that this can mean both denied or accepted. Not sure what to believe.

Thanks all.

P.S: She was not asked to submit her passport prior to her initial submitting her second medical request, but since on the package that Singapore send us it said that within 6 weeks from the date of this letter, please submit your passport. So I had her submitted the passport without even having Singapore sending her the request to submit her passport. Now I am not sure if that's the right way to do it or should have waited for them to request her passport.

We received your application for permanent residence on January 24, 2012.

We started processing your application on November 19, 2013.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

That means your case is closed. When they request your passport it already means you are approved. The decision made is just a paperwork thing.

The only time I've read it is bad news is when your status never goes into "In Process" and they reject your application so "Decision Made" in that case.
They would never ask for your passport if the applicant was rejected.

You should be getting the passport back soon. I would submit a case specific enquiry on your file through their website to ask.

Great, I'll do that right now and see what their response will, but I hope for the best as I've waited a little over 2 years already.

Thanks for your help Dragoon.
