congrats, how long from decision made ----- until the phone call telling you to go pick the visa up at IOM? because I am waiting for the phone call myself and decision made was changed on may 5th .

well....this is going to sound crazy....but its true. Went to Decision made last Thur (May 9) and was called yesterday (May12) that they had the passport.

But I have to tell you.....when I sent the pasport in via IOM, I wrote a letter to the SVO stating that I was in vietnam and leaving very soon due to my son graduating High School. I simply stated that it would be nice to reuinite a family for this occasion. I am not sure who processed the visa at the SVO but I want to thank them for reading my letter and actually supplying the visa rush as I requested. My son graduates next week and my wife will actually be with us.....very cool!!

wow, your visa was very quick then, congrats again, now my turn to wait for the call from IOM, called them yesterday but they said nothing yet its been 9 days since decision made making me worry.

Wow I got the call from IOM today, now probably gonna go down to IOM in ho chi minh and pick up passport and book tickets for my wife 2 son's and myself to go back on the 25 of this month. So happy its now over.

Have a quick question for Vietcutieboy, what was the date when your wife drop off her passport to the IOM office?

I'm also in the process of sponsoring my wife from Vietnam. We sent our application last June 2012. On August 27th 2012, I received a letter saying that our file had been sent to Singapour. But since then, we haven't had any news. My question is: Are we supposed to receive another letter or notification saying that Singapour did receive our application?

Hi Stelam, I hope I could help answering some of your questions, our application started on June 11th 2012. On August 13th of 2012, We got a letter from them saying that I was approved as the sponsor and that our application has been sent to SVO. We DID NOT RECEIVE ANOTHER letter or notification saying that SVO did receive our application.

My wife's ecas shows "Application Received"

We received [my wife's name]'s application for permanent residence on June 11th, 2012.
Medical results have been received.

So starting from August 13th 2012, we heard nothing from them until March 15th 2013, my wife application went in process.


My wife's ecas shows "In Process"

We received (my wife's name)'s application for permanent residence on June 11th, 2012.
We started processing (my wife's name)'s application on March 15, 2013.
Medical results have been received.

Then on April 10th 2013, I received an email from them and they requested an extension of medical check up immediately and to WAIT 4 WEEKS before sending in wife's passport to the IOM. So my wife went immediately on April 11th to do her medical check up at the IOM, and waited 4 weeks until May 10th which was five days ago and summited her passport to the IOM. Now we're just waiting for the SVO to approve her visa and send it back to the IOM, which is approximately 4 - 6 weeks long.

dec/28/2012 then 3 months later after about 3-4 emails they said that my IMM 5669 wasn't filled out correctly and they needed vietnam police certificate (version 2) which was just made mandatory in dec, before dec they only needed version 1, thats how I was late.

Hi goodman36, for the medical extension, they only took xray photos of her lung.
