Yeah, but the PR card isn't necessary to start working as a permanent resident. And the passport shouldn't take long. Let's be a bit less pessimistic.

Mine should come soon then! I did my medicals before you :)

all passports have to go to Mexico ... not really comfortable with this ... but it's the price to pay. According the letter 1 to 2 weeks to issue the Visa.

I always hated the idea of sending passports outside the country. I am actually thinking of going in person to Mexico City consulate if they can stamp it in a day or two (I already have a visa to enter Mexico). It's 4.5 hours flight from YYZ, costs around 600$.

the letter mentioned that if you go in person, you have to go to the immigration counter Monday to Thursday 8/10.30 am, and you pick it up at 3 pm, after 10.30 they will return it the following day

so you need to pay hotel on the top of that

Hi ONT_R.

Congrats,
Is there anything added to your on-line status as " Sent to you PR Request"?

PPR, PPR, PPR!!!!!!

I just for an email from the Mexican Embassy asking me to submit my passport!! The email itself says it!

The only problem is that the letter they attached is addressed to someone else. Hummm, I'm sure it's a mistake. But now I need to wait until they send me the right letter because the instructions don't seem to match. It's a bit confusing.

Hello!

Same thing happened to me! I was so excited to see the PPR email, but when i read the attachment, it's addressed to another applicant..., are you in Calgary? ;D.... Anyway, I wrote back to them, and very quickly, I received mine....

Good news!

I believe everybody will get PPR very soon! :P
