I had the same question before when I had my GCMS, it looks like they are not updating every single field, so don't worry about the blank fields, if the field is a mandatory it should have one of the following (Not Started, Started, In Progress, Passed). That is why the most important part is the notes part. check the first note which suppose to me the most recent, and see your status, mine was saying "RPRF Oustanding, once paid then ready for visa" do you have something like that? Also you the GCMS should tell you where is your paper and electronic application now.

Thanks for the reply Adeeb, here are the notes in descending order (most recent first)

1. 2012/05/08: Email address corrected
2. 2012/05/08: Request for status (i sent email to Catherine on this date, she said my file will go to Ottawa for Background check).
3. 2011/12/12: Label:Adm (cutted off text) and Text field is blank.
4. 2012/12/03: Pakistan PC for subject;no record (I was missing my wife's Police Clearance certificate and i sent them back in Nov: 2011)
5. 2011/11/25: Received check (RPRF).
6. 2011/10/12: Passed Eligibility.
7. 2011/10/11: Additional document; spouse PC required.

That's all for notes. I already paid RPRF so i don't see that note or something like ready for visa.

Paper File History
--------------------

The file is physically at Ottawa-CPP and they received this file electronically from Buffalo on 2012/05/09 (after a day when i sent email to Catherine) and file was physically transferred to Ottawa on 2012/05/16.

Activity (same order as in GCMS)

1. Security screening for my wife, status:blank, updated date:blank
2. Security for my wife, status:blank, updated date:blank
3. Security Screening for me, status:Not Started, updated date:2011/12/12
4. Security for me, status:blank, updated date:blank
5. Security for me, status:Not Started, updated date:2011/12/12
6. Security for my wife, status:blank, updated date:blank
7. Security for my wife, status:blank, updated date:blank
8. Criminality for my wife, status:blank, updated date:blank
9. Criminality for me, status:Passed, updated date:2011/12/12
10. Security for me, status:Passed, updated date:2011/12/12
11. Eligibility for me, status: Passed, updated date:2011/10/12
12. Medical for my wife, status:blank, updated date:blank.
13. Medical for me, status: Passed, updated: 2011/10/05
14.RCMP Screening for me, status: No Reportable Trace, updated: 2011/06/17

Do you notice, repetition and no:11 says Security Passed for myslef where as all other related activities above it for myself regarding security are blank. Did you got kind of same GCMS

I am unable to conclude from GCSM, what do you say.

Thanks.

Hi shaikhaffi, Your GCMS looks like mine, Eligibility, Medical, Criminality and Security is done for you. Dont worry about the blank fields, when I got mine I thought they havent completed my wife security and medical checks, I worried alot about her health actually. but I read in some forums that they dont fill all the fields. I dont see any fields clearly related to background check, so i guess that is where you are stuck, have you travelled alot during the last 10 years?

Looks like you are few weeks (maybe days) far from the ppr. Dont worry

May be you are right Adeeb, when I first looked at GCMS I was surprised they didn't fill fields associated to my wife, may be because I sent Police Clearance later that's why. When I approach minister office for my file update they told me my file is under background check but I dont see any such activity on my GCMS, did you have same issue? And my latest notes doesn't say anything about background check, by the way what's difference between security and background check? In last 10 years I only travelled to Canada in fact its my first travel abroad. And I don't see any updates GCMS after May 16, 2012. The GCMS says document requested date 6/6/2011, does it mean GCMS contains information upto 6th June? I see one Assignment section with the due date of March 1st, 2012. What does that mean?

Thanks.

I think Due Date March 01 means deadline by which visa officer has to make a decision. Not sure though, someone else mentioned it on a forum I remember.

What is your "We started processing your file on XXXX" date?

it is a due date for assigning your application to an officer, you will find "Due Date" also under some other categories, it is just a reminder date for them to finish each part before the due date. No, as I told you there is no clear category called background check. Security check is to make sure you were not part of a crime, background check is to make sure you didn't work or were not part of an organization that considered risk for canada society. The GCMS is up to date till the date that it has been sent to you, you should see "Date Generated" at the footer of each page.

Folks,

I got a reply from Ottawa-CPP:

"Good Day,

Thank you for your email.

Please note that your case has been transferred from Buffalo to the CPP-Ottawa office and is currently in the process of being reviewed by an officer.

Our office will communicate with you, should further information be required. "

Is it generic reply? if it is then how does it know my case has trasfered!! well any idea what kind of review they are talking about.

Thanks.

shaikhaffi,

Since you just did GCMS, here are some questions, pls help:

What is the best timing to conduct GCMS? For instance, how many months passed since application received, or home many weeks passed since medical done, etc?

what is the exact step by step to do GCMS? What is the website, how much to pay? credit card okay? how long to get result? I am in the US, anything I need to know compared to the guys in Canada?

Its better to apply for GCMS when your file takes longer than average time specified on CIC, Here is the url: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.asp

This will provide answers to rest of your questions. And it takes 6weeks to send you the GCMS notes.

i read the link you gave to me. but it says that only 3 kinds of person can request inforamtion: CA citizen, CA PR, and perosn in CA. I am in USA, so I have to authorize some people in CA to do it. Thanks anyway.

It is very hard to tell, but I guess it is a generic one. As mentioned on Buffalo website, all the applications will be forwarded to Ottawa for final review, so looks like this what it means.
