May 2020 applicant, November test done, everything completed end of January. I had an email of being put on list for the oath June 20th and this morning received an email offering an In-person public ceremony at the redblacks stadium during halftime of a football match on the 21st July or if not video ceremony in the near future. Did anyone else receive same email? I have replied for the in person, because that date is set and also the certificate will be handed there.
Good luck to anyone
@boobah WOW!!!! we have the exact same timeline - EXACT same. I also had an email about being put on the list by today (one month ago) - but heard NOTHING. Best of luck at the ceremony! WELL DONE!

@trumprefugee there was no mention of Niagra Falls in my correspondence only a mention that the email had been passed onto the Oath team.... and that it could be up to four weeks before I get my oath invitation - which is today and needless to remark there is no invitation....... I will write again tomorrow. Futile as it may be.
Was the email from the Ottawa office?

Ah okay, then sounds like you just need to keep following up with the Ottawa office and maybe also your MP. Since you're coming up on 27 months already, you actually are justified in being persistent with the followups!

Wow that's an awesome opportunity! I wish I had gotten that email. IRCC needs to do more of these in stadiums while the weather is warm! Wish they would offer it to everyone living in the area. I'm in Ottawa not far from the TD stadium but am being processed by Niagara Falls

Not sure if it is only you guys or me. I am in the same boat, May 2020 applicant, test completed in October and everything else completed in January. Since then, only waiting.

I also emailed cic ottawa and got the same reply that we have forwarded to oath ceremony team and it can take 4 weeks. It was on June 9th.
MP’s assistant has been following up with the office every month but still no luck. Don’t know what else to do. It has been so frustrating.
Ask your MP to urge IRCC to hold more in-person ceremonies in outdoor locations like stadiums while the weather is warm. That should reduce backlog and also save them time in mailing out citizenship certificates. In addition to what @boobah mentioned about the redblacks stadium, the first hybrid in-person and online citizenship ceremony already took place this Canada Day in Halifax, Nova Scotia:

@trumprefugee I have written to my MP many times along the way! Very polite correspondence but all in all - not an effective way to prompt progress in the process. I will be courteously persistent but other than hearing from the Ottawa office over a month ago about passing my email on to the oath team, I am pretty sure my file is stuck at the back of some virtual filing cabinet. There are glimmers of hope when hearing that @boobah got invited to an in person ceremony this day next week - or virtually in the 'near' future - whatever the definition of 'near' is.......
I think that May 2020/Ottawa applicants have been genuinely treated very poorly. I will never understand why straight forward applications are not dealt with on a case by case (in order) basis.
