Well according to the latest numbers that were posted here, Ottawa ‘s office has the largest numbers of any single IRCC office. No wonder they seem way slow and behind. Just be patient.

Yeah. They have like over 14k in backlog. Because Ottawa is the only office handling eastern Ontario, so it’s looks like the process is so slow.

I guess they will change your apllication to non- routine apllication if you reschedule the test and can cause more delays. I CAN BE WRONG , Just double check .

We consider your application non-routine if:

  • you asked to change your personal information, such as:
    • name
    • sex or gender identifier
    • date of birth
  • you missed a:
    • test
    • interview
    • hearing
  • we need you to submit extra documents, like:
    • fingerprints
    • residence documents
  • we asked you to come to another interview or hearing after you attended your interview
We also consider your citizenship application non-routine if you:

We don't know when the OP will receive another test invite.

However, if the OP can absolutely not make it, then it is best that the OP reschedules the test.

Ottawa really is the slowest office for citizenship isnt it...... montreal and toronto seem to be working fast, kinda sucks that where you live affects how fast your application gets processed.... someone needs to give ottawa office a nudge, we understand they have some other priorities since they process more than one application type but they need to step it up and hire more resources or something

any updates from Ottawa people recently?
