Others who applied after me already have AOR, but haven't got mine yet

Hoping for some insights or thoughts here. My outland sponsorship application was received by IRCC on March 10, 2022. I've seen so many applicants after me already get their AOR, and in some cases, even medical request and biometric letters. However, I haven't received mine yet.

What's weird is that I asked my MP to look into the file, and although the application was received, it remains unopened. Any ideas why those after me already have their AORs while I still don't? In my mind, IRCC should be opening application packages sequentially (i.e. first in, first out) but I could be wrong.

There is nothing unusual about this - it's only been about 90 days so far.
Thanks for your insight! Any idea why some packages seem to be opened ahead of others? Again, one would think that IRCC opens packages "by batch" or on a first in first out basis. But maybe there's something I'm not seeing here.

We do not know why they do things the way they do. The thing you're not seeing is that thinking about it too much is going to drive you mad and serve no purpose.

Not having an AOR doesn't mean your application hasn't yet been opened. Many applications (including mine) never get an AOR and are processed normally otherwise. Don't be surprised if you get a Bio or medical request out of the blue.
Well that’s new to me!
How did u get these updates mail or email? Yours was paper or online application ? What about application number, it comes with biometric/medical letter?

Paper application. Received my biometrics reminder email first, which had my application info on it. I just checked and my signature timeline (below) indicates I received my AOR on November 13th, but that was actually a PFL, requesting additional info they forgot to ask me about. Never actually got an official AOR.

In fact, here's how disjointed the IRCC processing/reporting process is: when I got my PR portal invite I supplied all requested info immediately. My address was confirmed quickly, but my submitted photo was 'under review'. It was shown as 'Under review' for months. I eventually got my PR card (with my submitted photo) in the mail, and in my PR portal that photo was 'under review' for months after I got my card.

The moral of the story - there's usually a lot more going on behind the scenes on applications than reported.
