Hi I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone out there can help.
I am married with 2 kids and reside in the UK. We would like to migrate to Canada, and I was told we can do so through getting sponsored.
I have a lot of family there including aunts and uncles that are citizens. I was told that either an aunt or an uncle can sponsor me and in turn I can bring my wife and kids to Canada on that visa.
Does anyone have any information o this? If so please can you shed some light as I am not sure this is possible

No, none of them can sponsor you as they all have other family in Canada already. In general Canadians can only sponsor their spouse/dependent children, or parents if they meet income requirements. Only those that are completely alone in Canada can sponsor "other" relatives.

Trust me that person is not a "professional" if they don't even know this very basic rule of who qualifies to sponsor someone.

If you paid money in exchange for this advice - request a full refund. This is immigration basics. Anyone who doesn't know this should be offering advice.

You should trust what CIC says on their website, not other "professionals", it is a common sense, can't believe a professional would give this kind of misleading advice. If you still don't want to believe it, your aunt/ uncle can send the application to see what will happen, the application will be returned within 8 weeks.
