Hello,

I ve read on most universities websites that when a student is offered admission, official transcripts should be sent in a sealed envelope by the institution. My university doesn't do that.

Can notarized transcripts be accepted instead?

Hello Dolly,

No, they only accept Transcripts which are sent directly by the university in which you studied to the address provided by your new college or university.

Every university has an option of sealed transcript, I suggest you visit universities head office and ask them for the same.

Btw in which university did you studied and please reply with your academic profile.

That's right. You can also get the transcripts in sealed envelope by the university and send by yourself. It's not just the transcripts but also other things like Letter of recommendation which either should be emailed by your professor directly or you will have to get it on the letterhead of the university and it must be sealed as well.

Just read admission requirements of the universities.

When I applied to university of Manitoba n memorial university, they too asked me to submit my transcripts but even my college doesn't issue official transcripts. So I just took Xerox of my academic certificates , got them notarized by the principal of my college(principal seal+ principal signature). Put those notarized documents in an A4 size envelope, sealed it and got the envelope attested too. Very important that u should also get ur envelope attested(college stamp+registration sign) and also it should be sealed followed by a stamp on seal. Then send it through fedEx or some other courier service(I gave my address in given address column, idk what u should do). It worked for me. Both the universities accepted my documents that way n I received admission letter. I'm just sharing that it worked for me n may also work for u but should confirm with the admission department first. Hope that helps

Actually, it's registrar office in university campus (not the college office) issue sealed transcripts.
