original passport submitted 2 months back havent received back yet

Hi All ,
i have submitted my original Passport on 25th October , i havent received it back yet , I wonder y and when will i receive back, i had emailed to chc also abt this but no reply of my mail from their end , the thing is that i need to travel to USA for my bros wedding in the month of January, just clueless please help me what should i do .. Hi, my passport is with LVO since first week of Nov and so far no news. Sent them email and after 15 days received a reply that 'your file is under process with an officer'. I have seen other people also complaining here that they haven't received passports for last 2 months. I'm also worried and frustrated with CIC. These visa offices are like black holes where lazy a$$ clerks are working.
