Hi guys,

I applied for visitor VISA of Canada because I have to fly through Québec City airport. About two weeks after my submission, I received an Original Passport Request in my account, and my application status says:

"Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details."

But no more details. I also did not receive anything in my email or maybe I accidentally delete it. Anyway, right now I have no information about what to do next. What should I do?

Thanks!

Eric

Can you please share which country have you applied from? Mine is almost 4 weeks but I haven’t got a response yet.

I hope someone will answer your question soon.

You must submit your passport + the passport request letter + any fees that are payable to the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC). It the VAC that's nearest to where you are allows it, you can post these documents to them or else submit them in-person.

You may also want to check if the visa office for your territory/region allows you to mail your documents directly to them. There could be certain guidelines for this.

You have 30 days from the passport submission request to do this

Hi, I applied from U.S, though I'm not U.S citizen.

Thanks Bryanna!

However I don't have the request letter now. I only know that I'm required to send my passport. More detailed guideline must be on the letter I believe. Do you know how can I ask them to send me the letter or where can I find it in my account?

The passport submission process is the same for both regular TRVs and Transit Visas.

Do check your online account again for the passport submission request letter. In case you haven't received it, you can email the NY/LA visa office (the one nearest to where you are) and request for this letter.

Here's the link on how to submit your passport to CSC (i.e. the VAC). You cannot post your documents directly to the visa office:

@Ericcccc, Thanks for your reply. Can you also please share if you've included I-797 (or any other optional supporting documents) in your online application?

Just trying to understand if any additional documents made any positive impact in the processing timeline.
