Hello ,

My husband is about to send his application. Just a quick question . Do we need to send his original official transcripts or just a copy of them . As per CIC website only COPIES are required and infact I did the same very recently for my application , however later some of the applicants mentioned at this forum that they submitted their originals .

As I dont want to get his application returned due to this reason so just wanna know is there anyone who submitted the copies and has his application in process.

Your input is highly appreciated !

thanks

I dont know about degrees from Asian countries, but from North American countries you would submit an official transcript in a sealed envelope, along with copy of your degree and the transcripts would have to be requested directly from the institution.

If the degree or certificiate is not in English then translations would be original. Transcripts can be photocopied i think

Thanks ! His transcripts are from Canada .

Are you sure ? then what about these instructions ?

4. Education records

Provide photocopies of all your official education records if you attended an educational institution in the four (4) years immediately before the date of your application.

Transcripts are usually sent directly from the institution in North America in a sealed envelope. This is a North American Standard ! When I have to send my transcripts, I pay the fees and request originals to be sent to me in a sealed envelope and that envelope I send it directly to the requesting institution. The envelope has the seal of the issuing institution. This is a normal standard in North America. I went to school in the USA fyi.

This is what i see in the instruction manual:
You have included original translation and an affidavit by the translator for any documents that are not in English or French.

But in transcripts section it says to send copies.

ONLY COPIES, NO ORIGINALS.

Original translation means you cannot translate something and send them a copy of the paper the translator made and stamped. You have to send what the translator gave you.
