My consultant is insisting on original employment documents. They say by giving original employment documents, the case becomes strong. Are they correct ?? If I give original employment documents will I get them back ??

Hi

Employement Documents-CIC (Check list) just asks to provide ORIGINAL REFERENCE LETTER (S) only and this will not be returned to you.

Consultant is asking for all the employment documents in original, appointment letter, relieving letters, letters of awards and appreciation, etc. They say that this makes the case strong...

Dear follow the CHC Checklist. Do not fully depend on consultants. Look for employment docs only reference letters should be original and up to date and employment contract or appointment letter should be notarized not original. You can also provide the notarized copy of relieving letter but it is not necessary. Rest letter of awards and appreciation should not be needed. But if you wish to send you can send copies of them. See the exact wording of a guide below.

.
WORK EXPERIENCE
For you, your spouse or common-law partner provide:
•notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers, accompanied by an English or French translation
•original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company's official seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
•the specific period of your employment with the company
•the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
•your main responsibilities and duties in each position
•your total annual salary plus benefits
•the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the company
•a business card of the person signing
If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a Written Explanation

Just ask the company to make a new one and mention in cover letter that you have lost your previous original contract letter and this is the new one which the organization has made on your own request. You cant miss contract letter. Send the notarized copy of it.

Hi Canada1234,

thanks for the reply... another issues is that i am working in the middle-east and due to a local law here, we expats are under the residency of a private company named ABC.. but i actually work for a bank. Now the copany ABC belongs to this bank that i work... so my original contract will be issued by the company ABC ...but the work referecne letter is on the bank letter head...this reference letter also states that i am under the residence of the ABC company..

What do i do in this case....
