Original doc need to be notarized when sending AINP app to Buffalo?

Hi all,
I know that we have to send a notarized copy of our docs and when our doc is english translation, we also had to submit copy of original. Because I'm married, I need to send marriage certificate which is not in english. I do have copy of the original, but, does it need to be notarized? I did bring my docs to be notarized at my bank (citibank) and they refused to notarized copy of original because they said that they need to be able to read it in order to know what it is. They did notarized the english translation of the certificate. That said, does anyone has similar situation like mine and can share their experience? Thx!

My advice would be to get it translated from your native language to English by a certified translator. They will also notarize it. It may cost a bit but worth it...

no harm ntarized that one as well. I did with my birth certificate.

I know, but, the banker at citibank (who also the notary) refused to notarize it because he said the doc has to be in english. He needs to be able to read in order to notarize it, this make sense to me, but then I wonder if an un-notarized copy of original docs will have issue. Thx!

i had same issue and i showed them original birth certificate which is not in english. they did it finally in my case. but if you can't notarized than CIC won't send your file back. They will only send file back when you have not answerd all the questions in forms and stuff like that " at present" "n/a" if you forget to mention than they will return your file.

If they need additional documents they can ask for that later stage.

but i think i saw a posting by someone whose app was returned due to missing I-797 and I-94. that said, buffalo office does return your application if its missing docs.
