Thank you for your help on my other post. I have eased my mind with some worries. I'm a US Citizen, he is a Canadian citizen. We're going to marry in July and file for our papers immediately! Just one question... how??

1. Do we file the sponsorship application and the beneficiary applications together with the supporting documents? I want to file outland in Buffallo.

2. I hear people say their documents can be up to 9 lbs! Do I put everything in a big box and ship it? Do I put original pictures and bills and stuff in there? And I believe it's a photocopy of your birth certificate, right?

3. We only have a couple Christmas cards, letters from lots of friends and family to document our love and marriage is genuine, LOTS of pictures with friends and family (that's the best part!!) and a couple phone bills and the like which don't prove his name... but unfortunately we talk a lot on Facebook Chat and XBOX Live. Which I'm going to mention in our supporting docs as well.

4. Anything you can tell me about the process of sending the applications would be extremely helpful. I've poured over the forums looking for this, but never came across it. Also, are these documents seperated by dates? What they are (photos, letters)? And are they in folders? I'd imagine I should just have the pictures loose everywhere.

Thank you so very very very much! I will try not to ask too many questions throughout this process, this one was the big one for me now, especially since we're two months away from filing!! Thanks!!

1. You file everything together, send it to Mississauga.

2. Yes, a copy of the birth certificate is good enough. And yes, package it however you see fit. I think if you manage to fill a box it's too much, but too much is better than too little I think.

3. Was there a question there? >_> Be sure to include copies of the cards, I think they really like those. I think you should have enough evidence. Got any receipts from trips you took together or anything like that? Boarding passes from the times you visited each other? Emails?

4. The organization of the supporting evidence is up to you. Try to make it so that the IO going over it will be able to figure out what is what. I put the wedding photos in one envelope, other misc photos in another. Those two envelopes were then together with everything else (skype records, emails, phone bills, cards, boarding passes,...) in a transparent folder, just to keep it separate from the application forms.

Keep asking questions, it's better to be too informed than not informed enough. It would be sad if you made a mistake just because you didn't dare ask that one extra question ;)

A copy of your birth certificate will be fine to be submitted.

One of the things I did to separate out all of my items, is that I used labels [that included (applicant) husband's name, (sponsor) my name, if the item was an addendum to actual form, that form number, OR if it was corresponding to a supporting document from the checklist, I listed it as (for example) Supporting Document - Item #4] That way it was very clear what each item was. I put all of my photos in a separate envelope - and when I had printed them at the photo store, I had taken the time to label them so that when they were printed, a description was already printed on the back of all them, detailing who was in the photo, when it was taken etc.. [i submitted them to my photo store (walmart) digitally (online) so I was able to type in what I wanted each photo to say on the back - when it was printed]. When I put the photos in the envelope, I put them in chronological order.].

4. Anything you can tell me about the process of sending the applications would be extremely helpful. I've poured over the forums looking for this, but never came across it. See above for my suggestion. Good Luck

Thank you so much! This forum has been everything to me in this process.

I like the photos in the envelope in chronological order. And I can just label the back of them. (I should do that anyway!! So I never forget!) I will probably put all of my letters from people in its own folder... I plan to have about 20 (at the lowest, 10)! Everybody knew us over the last three years, so that isn't very difficult.

So any kind of packaging will do? And paperclips... I know no staples!! Thank you all again.

ALSO!! - We are technically filing an out-land application, being that I live in the US and will not move to Canada until I have my PR status. It will still be filed that way, even if we mail it to Mississauga, right? Thanks! (Just wanted to clarify).
