Hello experts,

I might be posting this on the wrong section, but it is related to finance.

I am currently working full time under an Open Work Permit (obtained through my wife's Student Permit).
We are aware that we are not eligible to Quebec's Health Insurance because she is a foreign student.

The problem is every paycheck I get deducted a certain amount related to the governments health insurance, even though I do not have it.

Is it possible in any way to request for a refund/reimbursement of these payments?

Thanks in advance.

RAMQ does not charge any thing for health insurance.

I suspect you are referring to QPIP and EI (Quebec parental insurance plan) and (employment insurance) deductions.

Please double check your pay stubs. These are mandatory payments for the said purposes and have nothing to do with RAMQ i.e. provincial health care.

You can search online for their details. I don't think they are waived in any circumstances. If you are working in Quebec and getting paid, you have to pay these.
