Hello Everyone,

My husband just got his PR visa and passport returned and is ready for landing. We noticed that a letter that came with it gave us two options for his landing. One was to call a 1-888-242 2100 to arrange an appointment and another was to flagpole (re-enter). The condition was that he has a valid temporary resident status. I don't know if his Visitor record (authorized for 1 year, no work or school) counts as temporary resident status or not. I'd like to call and find out but I have had limited success calling the 1888 number. I never could talk to anyone, it just kept saying they were all busy and hanging up. I don't know if they've fixed that or if there is some easier way to schedule the appointment. (If possible).

Has anyone called the number and tried it that way? We live in Alberta and figured it would be faster to make a trip to Calgary rather than go all the way to the border and back again.

Just thought I'd throw this out there, I haven't seen any other posts regarding it.

1. A visitor permit is valid status.
2. You have to keep phoning if you want to make an appt.
