So here is another question.

I don't have a Option C Printout from Revenue Canada.

Instead I was going to send Notice of Assessment (original) including letter from my employer stating employment dates, and my annual income from Aug 2013 - pres, bank statement, and the last few paystubs (because I have been purging them all up until now).

Is this sufficient?

My package is ready to be mailed tomorrow and unfortunately I didn't realize that these could be totally different documents.

They may send your application back without the option C. You are better off waiting the couple weeks for it to come in and mail your application then. Better to do that then have the send it back and wait even longer for sponsorship approval.

Agree with PP. What you have suggested in place of the Option C doesn't prove to them that you were not on any format of social assistance. The Option C does that for you. Without it, they cannot determine your eligibility to sponsor accurately.

Even if the Notice and a letter from my employer indicates that my annual income is over $50k? There is no way we would get that from social assistance.

A proper Option-C is a requirement. If you do not send it in, Your risking for your application to be returned

just talked to a friend and she sent hers with a notice of assessment only and it got approved. I have been with the same employer for almost 7 years.

I am so ready to post this now. I will call CRA tomorrow morning. :-[ :(

Notice of assessment and Option-C are two different things. Be sure to request the Option-C report.

The list of documents clearly indicates you need Option C.

Why risk months worth of delays by not waiting a few more days for the document they ask for? My Option C took a week to show up.

I understand but what surprises me is that my friend's got approved without the Option C Printout. She had only submitted Notice of Assessment. I have requested one from CRA, and will be calling CIC as well.

Probably just a fluke, or the CIC agent was in a good mood at the time. With the wait you have ahead of you and the grief that that alone causes, don't chance it. I sent my application for Family Class in Jan. 2014 and the wait/silence is like torture, if my application had come back because of one little piece of paper I would have died.

And I totally agree :).

I just found out the CRA office in London, ON issues the Option C Printout, and that's where I am from.

I didn't send option C, only sponsors' notice of assessment + letter of employment and had no problems. I actually thought they were the same form.

I don't know if it helps. I applied inland, it took a while for me to get the option C from CRA. So instead of waiting for the Option C I sent in a copy of my T4, T1, a letter from my employer and a letter from me explaining why I didn't send the the Option C. I got my AOR and they still haven't asked me for the Option C. I finally decided to mail it to them over the weekend... Hope this helps
