my sponsor just requested an option c printout it will say single as his martial status because we wont be married until december. Will this be a problem? Should he request it once he has legally changed his martial status once we are married?

That's not a problem. Send the most recent one by the time you apply. A lot of people have sent Option C's with "single" status. This is not a big deal.

Mine said single although I'm actually common law. When I filed my taxes I did it through my normal tax program and totallly forgot to include my common law partner. My consultant assured me it wouldn't be an issue whatsoever as the option C is to show you're not on assisstance and not bankrupt.

Since the Option C is based off your last tax return, unless you filed as married on the last return it wont say married. Mine was sent in as single for tax year 2009 since I didn't get married until 2010 and it was no issue (I was approved as a sponsor ok).

My husband (Canadian) has a very complicated tax situation, as he was living with me in UK for 8 of the last 12 months and so has no income shown in Canada during that time and then before then he was mainly self employed. But he is now back in Canada working for the last 5 months but hasn't done a tax return in that time.

Do you think it will be a big deal if we don't send in the Option C, but just explain this?

If he didn't file a Canadian tax return, include equivalent information (UK tax) plus an explanation. What they actually need is evidence he's neither bankrupt nor claiming social assistance, as those are the specific requirements to be able to sponsor.
