1) I am a Canadian citizen. I am sponsoring my husband. I am currently living outside Canada with my husband. I have a question that I have to attach an original option C print out (notice of assessment). I don’t have my notice of assessment with me . Actually CRA have sent it to my Canadian home through mail. I have online access to get that notice of assessment through “my account” on CRA. Can i print it out that form online and attach it with my application.
Also, what is the difference between "Option C print out" and notice of assessment. Can I attach the notice of assessment i get in mail from CRA or do i need OPTION C print out specifically?
Also, as i am living in dubai , is there any number i can call from here to CRA( canada revenue agency) and get this option C at my dubai address.

Essentially there is no difference between the two....I asked the same question myself..consensus here was not to use the Notice of Assessment..

"They" asked for Option C Printout...so thats what they want..and thats what I gave them.

Good questions, I believe the option C is more detailed than the NoA, not sure if they would accept just the NOA or not.

They were very helpful when I called, sorry not sure if this is available internationally but here's the number: 1 800 959 828

It does show this one their website:

Option C and notice of assessment are two different things. They pretty much have the same information but the layout is different and more detailed for the option C. An option C printout is not mailed to you after you file your taxes, unlike the notice of assessment. CIC specifically asks for OPtion C, therefore you have to try your best to provide it along with your T4. Did you file taxes for 2012 in canada? If not than there's no point to call CRA, instead you need to provide tax returns from dubai (if applicable) or employment letter or any paystubs etc.
This is their number for calls outside of canada 613-940-8495. If for some reason you cannot get the Option C printout but you do have the notice of assessment, than write a letter explaining why you are not providing the Option C, along with T4 (if applicable), employment letter, pay stubs etc.

It took us almost a week to get it within canada, I believe they told my husband 5-8 business days. So I would assume it should be at least a week for overseas.

I am applying for spouse immigration as my wife is Canadian national and we both living outside the Canada , i have the following queries regarding proof of income

1) They asked the proof of income for the sponser preceding the 12 months : My wife was not working since 2011 and she does not have enough proof of income to mention .What we can do here ?

2) Does she submit last 12 month bank statement which realistically cannot fulfill their requirements ?

3) Can I ( Principal applicant) submit my bank statement which is quite enough to fulfill their requirements ?

or is their any other way to address this issue .

your help and feedback's will be highly appreciated

Just include a letter instead of the proof of income, explaining that she is a housewife, does not have a job, and that you are supporting her.

You don`t need to submit 12 months of bank statements. What you can do, is write a plan detailing how you will support yourselves once you are in Canada. With this you can include proof of any savings and investments that either of you have, and say you will be living off of your savings until you get a job (or whatever the situation is).

ok, I am confused, who's option c printout did you ask CRA for, yours or the option c for the Sponsor? U need the option c printout for the sponsor, unless you are a co-signer for the sponsorship, in which case u would need option c for both of you (if you both filed taxes in 2012). If you're not a co-signer then your option C is useless.
As an answer to your questions, first of all you've got me confused saying "my husband posted..." and then " my wife is a canadian national", anyhow from my personal knowledge I can say that :
1) They are asking for employment letter, notice of assessment, option C print out maybe bank statement etc. Since your wife has not been working since 2011, I am assuming you are the breadwinner therefore you need to co-sign the sponsorship and provide option c and T4 and any other proof of income such as bank statement, along with a cover letter (this is what I would personally do) stating that you are the one who provides for you and your wife and as a result you have not included any supporting evidence for your wife's employment. You could also get letters (possibly notarized) from her mother/father or any family members that can state that they will provide lodging and food for you until your wife is employed (something along those lines). The sponsor does not need to be employed to sponsor you, however she cannot be on welfare or any social assistance either.
2) Unless your wife has a considerable amount, such as, at least 1500$/per month for 3 years (sponsorship financial obligation time) than there is no point to include her bank statements
3) You could include your bank statements, again if its a decent amount (lets say 6 months of moderate living expenses), I would assume it would be better if it was a joint statement btwn the two of you.
Now most importantly, are you and your wife on vacation, or is your wife living exclusively outside of canada ( if thats the case she needs to prove that she intends to come back to canada and settle here once you receive pr)

If the OP`s situation is that a Canadian citizen is sponsoring his spouse, the spouse cannot cosign to sponsor himself.
If the Canadian citizen is sponsoring other relatives, then the husband can cosign.

Sorry but you're wrong. At least for inland applications I know that the person being sponsored (principal applicant) CAN co-sign, the co-signing part is for the financial responsibility not as an actual sponsor.

My bad, after checking again, a spouse who's being sponsored cannot cosign the undertaking. Nor can anyone else besides the sponsor him/herself
