OPNP Work Permit

Hi all,
Please go through my situation written below and advise any avenue that i can pursue with regards to extending my work permit.

My file arrived at CIO on August 25/2015, since then awaiting AOR. Upon emailing CIO & CPC-Ottawa, received a response saying they have received my application and they will let me know if they need any documents(It is a generic Email pattern which they use for responses).
My current work permit is expiring on March 15/2015, and i had applied for a new one on December 30/2014 with the help of OPNP letter. And, i am still waiting for any decisions to be made on that too.
I am worried if they reject my work permit application. Actually my original work permit should be expiring on June 15/2015, but it was restricted to March 15/2015 just because my old passport was expiring on that date.
I am tensed to think about what may go wrong. Please share your thoughts.

My friend use just OPNP letter to apply BOWP, he get rejected, the same situation as yours , long time no AOR form CIC :'(

Without AOR, BOWP could be rejected or put on hold.

You should have selected LMIA exempt as the type of work permit I believe. My own wp expires in about 3 months so I am trying to prepare the application.

Yes that is what opted for.
You are right, without AOR, BOWP likely be rejected. I am just in a worst situation. Thanks for sharing your thoughts tho.

according to you timeline, you are very close to get AOR, don't lose hope

You will need to be patient. My own open work permit will be expiring in March as well. I had earlier submitted an open work permit extension application in December 2014 that got refused but I didn't got to know until February 19, 2015 because whenever I checked online my application status still says "open" but luckily for me I called CIC contact center and the agent that picked my call was kind to inform me straightaway that the application has been refused since January but I told him that its still showing open status online. Anyways he advised me to re-apply immediately for Bridging open work permit and that I should include both my nomination certificate letter and PR application AOR. You should note that when you are answering the question at the start of the application, if you dont indicate "Yes" when they asked if you have been nominated then you are likely not to get the right form to fill. So pay attention when you are answering those part. One way to find out if you have done something wrong is if there is no place they specifically asked you to upload your nomination certificate as part of the supporting documents, then you will have to delete that application and start all over again. On a final note, the best thing is to call their call center and explain your situation and let them guide you. I usually call them twice like 1 hour apart so that I can be sure of the information they are giving me is the same and not different from the earlier person I spoke with. I'm applying from SK and not ON.

I believe you have AOR, but i don't. Therefore, I can't apply for BOWP. Lets see what happens. If i am lucky enough then i will get AOR before March 15/2015. Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts.

No i do not have AOR and I am a May applicant.
BOWP/OWP will likely be refused without it.

I used my nomination letter to apply for a closed work permit. Since it has gone over the posted timelines, so called CIC, they said another officer is assessing my application in Etobicoke, ON to verify some information and to see if i am eligible to receive a closed work permit on the basis of supporting letter provided by OPNP. Call agent also mentioned me that OPNP was on hold for some reasons and that is causing all the delays.
