Hello, friends

I am now filling the form for OPNP and I am confused with the requirement of "certified true copies" of university degree certificates in Section D of the application form and Section III of its checklist at the end (it is marked with a star so i beleive it is mandatory). Meanwhile, the application guide for Ontario HCPS states that only ECA copy is required from the applicants who obtained their degree overseas. Dear Seniors, please clarify this collision, what exactly i should provide?

P.S. I have a hard copy of original eca and copies of my degree certificates with transcripts and the notarised translation but the degree certificates are not certified as true copies (at least it is not mentioned in the notary text).

Re: OPNP application - section III education

Any document in your OINP application package should be either in English or French. A notarised translation is required for original documents not in English or French and both needs to be submitted- certified true copy and notarised translation of that document.

Yes, I agree that its not written in the OINP Application guide that you need to submit the original scanned (+certified translated copies, if any) copies along with the ECA but it's amply clear as per the Form checklist. So i would advice you to include your certificates (along with transcripts) and err on the side of caution. and Yes, its a discrepancy between the Form checklist & the Guide.

P.S. I have a hard copy of original eca and copies of my degree certificates with transcripts and the notarised translation but the degree certificates are not certified as true copies (at least it is not mentioned in the notary text).

There is a discrepancy regarding the proof of funds too.
The application guide says you need to provide a 6 months bank statement. Whereas the checklist gives you more than one option to prove funds, including a letter from the bank with your balance details.
I find it weird, and I am not sure what to submit now

Dear CanadaWeCome, an original document which is simply scanned does not meet the requirement of a certified true copy. Such a certification is within the competence of a notary who makes a copy using the original diploma in his/her office, then compares both papers and then sews a copy together with the following text: "i hereby certify that the present document is a certified copy of the original". Then the notary signes and seales the sewed document.

Now I have no idea how the copy of translated diploma with 2 certifications (of authenticity of the copy as well as authentity of the translator's signature) should look like - as one whole document or two separate diploma copies with different kinds of certification?

If the notary does not provide the certification of a true copy in both languages - my native language and English, will I need to translate the true copy certification into English?

Yes agree, a certified true copy is made by the translator (in case of language other than english and French here) and then the notary putting his seal & signing it.
Now I have no idea how the copy of translated diploma with 2 certifications (of authenticity of the copy as well as authentity of the translator's signature) should look like - as one whole document or two separate diploma copies with different kinds of certification?
My guess is this would be one certification for translation (saying this is a true copy of the original, preferably in the same formatting (look & feel)
If the notary does not provide the certification of a true copy in both languages - my native language and English, will I need to translate the true copy certification into English?
If i read CIC correctly, they are silent on the notarization of documents (that too for different languages)

This is for the notice of future OPNP applicants:

I called OPNP office last friday and its officials confirmed that no diploma certificates and other education credentials certified as true copies of the originals are required if the person applies under Human Capital Priorities Stream. Still, providing simple copies of diplomas, transcripts etc. with notarised translation is recommendable.
