I have posted this link to raise awareness that many people have different views in Canada. (If this is posted in the wrong place can an administrator please move it).
The article is about Sikhs carrying kirpans, but there are other issues mentioned in the detail.

Multiculturalism is part of what Canada is, however multiculturalism appears to be a difficult subject here, with many differing opinions.
Some people do not like what Pierre Trudeau did, others do not.

I would like to hear immigrants and prospective immigrants views on the matter. We will all have to deal with it at some time.

Would anyone like to comment?

I love this topic and I'm surprised that there wasn't more exchange going on, although it's not much to do with immigration per say.

I forget exactly who it was that said it, but the best way I heard it put about Quebec was something along the lines of: "Many metropolitans are melting pots. In a melting pot, everything comes together and blends. Quebec is more of a mosaic. A bunch of individual tiles put together to make one grand image. Basically, different cultures come to Quebec and make up the place, but everyone keeps their cultural identity." I thought this was the most apt description of how I see Quebec.

This was said of Quebec? I've heard this said of Canada as a whole numerous times.

Aww, where did the rest of this thread go? It was obnoxious, yet amusing...
