I am travelling to Toronto on as a PR in a couple of weeks and would like open a Canadian Bank account while I am here in India. Is it possible to do it? How safe is it to transfer funds?

Excellent question- I researched and found that RBC does provide options to open an account sitting in India. Did you check out this option?

And what're your next logical steps? I tried using the 'Live chat' feature on RBC, and it just didn't work.

Can open scotia bank account from india , kotak and scotia have an tie up.

Can open icici bank account from herre too..

Depend on which place ur landing. Some indian banks in canada have limited branches. Can try sbi too.

I checked too... found Scotiabank also that does it

Scotia bank does a good job unfortunately scotia bond dont have an option to input your middle name, which lead to further problems with transferring funds.

CIBC does not offer option to open account from outside Canada. I spoke to their call center folks and confirmed this.
