I came here on LMO. Now company is planning to send me back out of Canada in January. I will be applying for PR in this week.
Since I can't work for any other employer due to LMO, can I get open work permit? I read somewhere that you can apply for Open WP if you get AOR. Is it true?

Yes, once you get you AOR you can apply for bridge open WP.

Search in the forum you will get many posts related to BOWP.

Thanks. I will search on that but have another question. If I go out of Canada before getting AOR, is there any way of coming back to Canada before getting PR?

if your visa expires then you'll need a new one that you won't get till you receive your WP... Good Luck

Hi,
it's true, but keep in mind you can't apply for the BOWP sooner than 4 months before your current WP expires.

So you can't apply for the BOWP before March 15th. By that time you may have your AOR.
You can apply for BOWP even if you do not have AOR.. as long as AOR is on your CIC profile at the time of BOWP application processing, you will be fine.. so if you apply for PR this month and then by March-April 2015 you should have AOR.. even if you don't you can still apply for BOWP mentioning in letter that u r awaiting AOR..

I applied for my BOWP without AOR 3 weeks after applying for PR.. and my AOR was issued few weeks before my BOWP was being processed.. thus i got BOWP.

Yes, you're right but he can't apply sooner than 4 months before his current WP expires. His case is opposite. He will have more than enough time to wait for his AOR.

If you are suggesting going back to India to continue working for your employer while you wait for the AOR, then you will not be eligible for the BOWP.

Being IN CANADA is one of the requirements for the BOWP.

To be eligible for a bridging WP, the following parameters must be met:

The foreign national is currently in Canada;

In this case, can I resign from current employer and join new company? I guess I can't do it as LMO is specific to company.

Now since my LMO is expiring in July'15 (visa in Apr'15) and my employer is asking to go back in Jan'15, is there any way to get job in other company and stay in Canada?

Hi,
it's possible, but you have to find another employer willing to do LMIA for you.
