I`m working in Canada with a Open Work Visa, in a full-time, permanent job (NOC A or B, I still have to check). I want to apply to Express Entry this year, and thought I could use the job offer to get 600 points. But I was reading the CIC website and saw that only Job Offers with LMIA counts as a real Job Offer. This doesn't make sense. If I'm already employed, why should my employee ask for a LMIA?

And this means that I cannot get the points for the job?

Yes, You cant get the 600 points with your current employment. The job needs to be LMIA supported to claim the 600 points.

Because otherwise you won't get the extra 600 points for having a job offer.

But the current job offer does not have a LMIA, because of my OWP. How can my employee get a LMIA, if I'm already working?

Basically by posting the position on job sites that you're working at and proving no one other than you can do that job and rehire you.
