Open work permit

Hi all , I have entered canada on visitors visa . Now a would like to apply for open work permit as my husabnd is doing MBA from here and is on study permit . Plz someone guide me what all docs i would be needing andhow to apply online .also for my son ( 2 years old has USA passport came along me in canada last week ) which form should we fill to change his stay here .

I don't have specific help for you. I know it can be done. Getting a OWP tied to a student visa should be possible. My wife got hers (twice now) tied to my CWP. I pay for an attorney due to complexity... but it is less than 2k all in (not including HST).

Typically, the maximum an American child can stay is 180 days without a visa. Should say on your passport stamp. However, I found this:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/minors-documents.asp which seems to indicate nothing needed since a parent is here on a study permit.

It is not something I would take a chance on. Perhaps call CIC.

Hi,
I have applied Open work permit for my wife online, Got PPR request and sent the Passport to Ottawa CPC.
Today got my passports back and found only work permit pasted on passport page. But didnt receive any document kind of paper from them.
Do we need request to get such document ?

Also i have applied for my kids Visitor extension and Sent the passport to Ottawa office and passport returned saying cannot be processed at this office. Kindly help me to know which office i should sent. (Kid is staying with me in Canada).
