how much does an open work permit really cost? a friend of us who is already in Canada informed that we will need to pay 2000 CAD is this true?

Hi Racel,

I think you don't need LMO for an open work permit. Open work permit may be either Post graduation work permit or an off campus work permit. I don't think these are any other circumstances in which you will get an open work permit. The cost is $150 for each work permit.

If you are coming to canada with your spouse for more than 6months then the dependent except child, your wife or husband can apply for open work permit... for the same duration as of principal applicant's visa duration
