Hello everyone. I came here to Canada around the end of 2013 , applied for Spouse Sponsorship Inland and only on January 2015 I have received my OWP. It`s been a long time..... Anyways , I`m waiting for my permanent residency permit to be confirm , in the cic website is written that the waiting period is 8 months. Can I go out from the Country? I would like to know if I can, for how long I can stay out of the Country. I can`t find a job here in Toronto and I was wondering if I can get a season job outside Canada.

I would certainly not recommend getting a job outwith Canada. Part of applying inland is that you are residing in Canada during the application process. If you leave Canada and are refused entry on your return for whatever reason then your inland application will be cancelled and you would need to start all over again. If a CBSA agent questions how long you have been outside Canada when you return you could find yourself in a lot of difficulties.

If you are having trouble finding a job in your particular field have you thought about expanding to areas that maybe don't require a huge skill base just to bring some dollars in?

Hi thank you for your response. I`m looking for any jobs, cashiers, waitress, but I am not having a lot of luck. I`m babysitting right now. The job its outside Canada but the payment will be through my Canadian bank account. Anyways we can go out from Canada while waiting for the permanent residence right?For how long can we stay out?

If you applied inland you need to remain in Canada if you want the application to be approved. You can only leave Canada while waiting for PR if you applied outland.

Excuse me but i dont think this is right. I can go for a holiday for example, so I can go out the Country with my OWP, while I`m waiting for my permanent residency.

An OWP doesn't guarantee re-entry into Canada (check the fine print on the permit). You can certainly leave Canada - but there is never a guarantee you will be allowed back in.

As scylla said, there is absolutely no guarantee that you would be allowed re-entry to Canada. If you were refused entry, your inland app would be cancelled and you would have to start all over again with an outland app. This is why it is recommended that inland applicants remain in Canada throughout the entire process.
