Open work permit-Spouse visa

Hi,

Has any one submitted file for spouse for open work permit under student visa from India only so that both can travel together.

I have submitted my file in June after getting my wife's student visa as we are planning to travel together but I have no idea how many days my file will take.
Can someone please advise me on this as till now I have not even received any acknowledgement email from Canadian embassy.
Please advise.

Please advise when you receive any update on this. Even I had applied for my wife study visa from India, I am in Canada as a visitor. How or when should I apply for Spousal Open Work Permit for me based on my wife study permit. My wife applied the study permit off line from Hyderabad on June 26 2018, can I now apply for Spousal Open Work Permit from Canada as a visitor.

SOWP are not guaranteed for spouses who are studying. If one is granted it usually can take approximately 4 months so it is unlikely that you will be able to travel together. Think you should make plans for your wife to travel separately so you can book her ticket.

You could have applied at the same time as your wife or when your wife is approved. It takes many months to get approval.
